Selfkantlauf, Gangelt 2017

Image
…. 4 runners, 4 winners, 1 podium The third Selfkantlauf in Gangelt should be the first competition in 2017, in which some of my “ Lustläufer ” friends participated: Ralf, Jörg, Doris and me. With ambitious goals we drove in a good mood, highly motivated and well prepared to Gangelt. True to the motto “Completely no matter how fast we run - the main thing: be faster than 5!” We were just before 14 o'clock initially on the wrong side of the starting line. Once again it became clear that the first ones could quickly become the last, and we changed the side more or less coordinated. A bit late, the track started at 14:06. Surprisingly for at least Jörg, who already knew the track, there was this time a completely new route: It was started with the Bambini round which was followed by two laps over the 10km. The start, the Bambini round, was a bit bumpy, because route was very winding on the first 2km, unfortunately. The 10km were quite pleasant to run: A beautiful route o...

ATG-Winterlauf, Aachen 2016

Image
One of the most popular running sport event in my hometown and at the same time almost the end of the sports year is the ATG Winterlauf. We, the Lustlauf - Mein Verein e.V., take part on this 18km (~11,2 miles) run from the old to the new clubhouse of the ATG. This event is held every year in the middle of December. The track is a mixture of street- and field run, with some trail parts. The great thing is, that it isn’t a round. We travel by buses to the start point. Once you sit in the bus there is no backing out! You have to run! As you can imagine, it’s a bit special. Further it is in the wintertime. It’s cold, mostly wet and if you are lucky everything is white because of the snow. I like to run in the winter. Okay, I like it in every season: summer, winter, spring and autumn. But in the winter the air is extra fresh! You breathe cold air extra deep. It feels great. And the look of the nature: white of snow, sleepy quiet and the special blue daylight. I love it! It’s...

Strong Viking, Frankfurt 2016

OCR saves lives! Sounds to enthusiastic? No… Did you read (or maybe better saw) the “ Xletix NRW 2016 ” - blog? I motivated some colleagues for it. And one of them stopped  smoking to become a better sportsman. Probably he will never be an athletic but is this necessary? No, it isn’t (my opinion). The only thing, you  should to be, is fit. No matter how fast you run, no matter how strong you are. You should be fit and feel good. My colleagues trained before and after the Xletix, and so they wanted to go to a further OCR - Good done! It was called “Strong Viking”. These OCR series has some different editions (e.g. mud, water, steel, hills, brother, family) which all have another focus. We selected the brother edition. This edition has its focus on teamwork. Obstacles which you can’t do alone are in the focus. The best choice to build a team or to strength one. The weather was perfect, our mood could not have been better. Even if our team wasn’t on one fitness level...

Sometimes you have the opportunity to get a ticket sponsored. Today it was like that! Thanks! A small street run, nothing special, but I had fun with friends!

ToughMudder, Wassertrüdingen 2016

Image
In 2016 there were three ToughMudder-OCR and - you know me - sure, I booked them all. At this point, I want to send a big “Thanks you” to the ToughMudder headquarter and the support. At the beginning of the year 2016 I didn’t know if I will like OCR and ToughMudder. So I only booked one event. But i liked it so much and booked the second and third one later - one after one. Later at the year I figured out, that there exist a season pass for Germany. With this, I could have saved money. The very friendly support canceled the single tickets, sold me a season pass and refunded the difference. Thank you very much! For copyright reasons, this video has no music. Ask me

Xletix NRW 2016

Since my first OCR challenges and the knowledge that I’m addicted to OCR, I’ve tried to find some more OCR-friends. The more we are, the better will be the fun! Sure, I was asked and I told my working colleagues all about this adventure. But you can not explain everything - you have to experience this yourself! So we booked this Xletix challenges.  For copyright reasons, this video has no music. Ask me.
