German NinjaWarrior TV-Show, 2019

Life is beautiful if you often do something special. So this time I wasn’t at running nor than at a OCR event. But at least I had to run and there were many obstacles to climb or jump over or something else! This time I was at the German version of the TV show “NinjaWarrior”. And I was there not as a viewer. I was there as a participant. After the registration and a little warm up there were 5 stations to do. At the first we had to jump out of the stand over a rack. In 3 times we could adjust the level. At the end counts the highest level. I jumped 1,00m. The second was more or less climbing or hanging. On a beam hung nine different climbing holds. We had to go back and forth as often as we could in 90 seconds. To make it a bit harder we weren’t allowed to touch the bottom but the beam wasn’t high enough. So we had to put on our legs. Balance…not my best obstacle. At first, we had to lay on a balance ball. Then we had to change to kneel position, stand up on the ball and g

LGG 80 Nachtlauf, Köln 2019

The last weeks we did some changes in the communication tools in my club . We opened an WhatsAPP group and a calendar. Now we are able to communicate in (more or less) real time and everyone can publish run events in the calendar. So we all can run more together and participant on more events together! I like it because a club is more than running more or less two time a week together. And it works. It works because it was very easy that way to organize this funny event. We met on Friday evening and not only because we care about our nature, we drove together! It was a very rainy and cloudy day (better I should say week). An extremely weather phenomenon a hurricane destroyed a small town only 15km from my place. But we all were in a good mood and had fun to run! The start….it was still raining. Directly after the start I got to the first place. The track was very wet. There were some puddles who also could have seen as a sea. Maybe we should all have been wearing swimwear

Strong Viking Mud-Edition, 2019 Fürstenau

Image
There is no off-season for real ocr! Only a time in the year when ocr-events are rare. So we also were at the Strong-Viking Mud-Edition in Fürsteuau. The only thing, but it doesn’t care, is the weather. It should be cloudy, windy and rainy. But it only makes it harder. And, i quote the moderator, everyone can do it in the summer! North of the village of Fürstenau, near the German border with Holland, is the largest outdoor park in Europe - the Fursten Forest . This 400-hectare former training ground for the German Federal Armed Forces has been transformed into a unique amusement park where nature and adventure meet in grandiose ways. Right here is the best place for an OCR-Event, for the Strong Viking . I had to leave my house at 5:30am because we met friends on half-way to the event. Normal this is not an acceptable time for me. But I do much for my sport, and I’m willingly accepted many restrictions. Also, for the first part, I wasn’t alone in the car. But we had an agreem

Carnival regeneration run

During the carnival it wasn’t easy. A whole week under the headline “party, drugs and alcohol” isn’t a good time to run and make sport. Nevertheless, I did it. At the end it was fantastic. I started with a headache (because I sure had some rest alcohol in my body) and ended fit and ready to go to party again.
