OCR... more than running

 Today for the third time at Kitzenhauslauf in Walheim near my home. It’s a yearly event which is sponsored by my club for all us who want to participate. The track is mostly in fields or woods and scenic beautiful. Nevertheless, it is a bit hard to run. The first 3 km of the 10 km long track are uphill and the rest of it is more or less wavy and a mix of uphill and downhill. For me the first part is easier than the wavy part. That’s because I can not get used to the constant change of ups and downs. I did not come in a flow. But okay, that’s the challenge!       I finished faster than last year but lost one place. The most pleasure was my club again. It’s every time nice to participate on a club event!

Yesterday I was at the Strong Viking . It was a great day but exhausting. And today my club “ Lustlauf - Mein Verein e.V. ” took part on the “Kitzenhauslauf”. I wouldn’t have taken part too because yesterday. But my club president ordered me to take part. I’m a very obedient underling and so it was necessary to obey! If you know me (and my president does) you know if you challenge me, I will do it all the more! I wasn’t sure about it, but I’m cheeky. And so I said it loud “If you challenge me, I will win at my age group!” I had very heavy legs. But who cares? I wanted to run! I wanted to show them all I could. And at the end I was the first of the Group M40 (Yes I became at this year 40). My president was very proud: I was standing on the top of the stairs. But he was also proud of all the other club runners. It was - like on every other day - very funny to see you all and run together!

Again on the way with some mates of the “LustLauf”. This time we were 12 pleasure runners, and we rocked the Kitzenhauslauf in hot summer conditions. The run is sponsored by the club every year and it becomes more and more popularity for all Lustlauf runners. It is necessary to show all other (local) runners and sport friends the cohesion of the club. We act together as a group and, for example, we picked up not every single start number rather than all together. “Let’s go to the start line!” With a little delay we all started for the beautiful, but very selective route. The trail was a single up and down. At the end I couldn’t remember only one straight trail part. But apart from me and Mareike, all arrived nearly together to the finish. Mareike and me - we were like young horses. We couldn’t control our energy, and we had to run, run, run. So we got a bit quicker to the finish. But who cares? We are a club, a group….we are friends! Again a very nice and funny day! Thanks...
