OCR... more than running

It was a long time discussed in my club and at the end I just did. My club has its own website and there is an internal forum. But that is not state of the art. It’s not real-time communication and takes way too long. Spontaneity is something else and not possible. So I opened a whats-app-group with all phone numbers I knew. It worked! Within two days we were a little group of 10 who want to start at the Rursee-Marathon. This will be a great day - that was sure! Alone, the journey to the event was pure fun. We shared two cars and our mood got better with each kilometer we got closer to the start line. In the end we were almost euphoric. There are different distances to choose. I took (as usual) a distance around a half-marathon. I had to say it was a very natural track. Very nice landscape around the dam with some hard and high surprises. Some elevations were hard but possible to run, and so we all were happy to reach the finish! I sadly had to handle with a drop of bitte...

Again…. Most events are yearly events. That doesn’t mean they are boring or less interesting. That means there is a fix date in your Calendar on which you can be happy. This time we were again at the “Hambacher Herbstlauf” like in 2017. That’s an event which is sponsored by my club. Many friends take part every year and the “Lustlauf - Mein Verein” is strongly represented. I took the 21km distance - a half-marathon. More or less, this is my favorite distance. Much more and I get bored. And much less, I don’t feel challenged. So, this is my distance and I’m good in it. I became the winner of my age group. I don’t need to say it, but it was a very great day with friends! Love you all!

We arrived a little early at the ATG club home. Since we still had time, we enjoyed the still warm sun on the sports field, had fun and made the important selfie. The start was approaching, we were in the front third of the runners field and waited for the starting shot. “PENG” and off we went. First we had to run a lap around the sports field, to then leaf the sports field to go on the track. The track was very poisonous and hard. One rise followed the next. Some of them could only be walked, but not ran. And, because of the foliage, some downhill parts were very slippy. But, especially because of the foliage, the track was wonderful. I like the colors in the autumn. It’s crazy how wonderful the death can look. The Sun was shining, the weather was great and everywhere the smell and the look of autumn - love it! All runners were more than satisfied, with the services provided on the wonderful character trail and I got back to the ATG club home after 10,6km and 50:26 minut...

 This time I was proud because as a special surprise my wife took part too!

Local and for the first time does not mean it will not be good! This thinking was the reason we register at the StolRun. StolRun is located in Stolberg, Rheinland, a small town only 15km far away. They tried really long to make Stolberg a bit more glamorous. Maybe this run was part of these plans. Anyway…. Fantastic sunny weather, good mood viewers and a good team. The run couldn’t start better! We had 2 laps to do. Sadly each only 7km. But if the track will be as expected, it will be enough. We started down in the city. We past and we ran through the Stolberg Castle and up the Donnerberg and had to overcome many stairs and other obstacles.   The obstacles were better than expected. Okay, they all had enough headroom and potential for next year to be bigger, better, harder. But for the first time - congratulations! I had only really to wait at one obstacle. All others were great enough to handle the amount of runners. Also, this is very good!   I can’t wait f...
