Light the Night Run 2019, Sittard
Everybody can run. But if you want to do it for a long time you need to motivate yourself every day again! The most time running I’m doing it on a street or on fields with my running club. It’s not so bad because it’s a cool group of crazy people, and we try to run more beyond the streets.
But it’s often the same and nothing special. So there is another group of runners which we call “Matschverrücktengruppe” (mud crazy group). These are the people with whom I run the OCRs. And we try to do more than OCR. This time it was a night run.
It wasn’t a big event. Maybe 200 starter. And many of them didn’t really run. Many kids with parents more walked the track. But it’s okay!
The Track was a round of 3 km with a time limit of 60 minutes. We were allowed to run as many times as you could. Most runners did only one round. (I told you there were lots kids!) I tried to run 4 round. It’s possible to do 12 km in 60 minutes. But you need to run….. Especially because it is dark, you run rather cautiously. I did it - Sure I did! I “won” the race and run 4 round within 60 minutes. And I was the first who reached the finish line after 4 rounds.
The event was well prepared! It took no time to register. The waiting area was more a party area in which we prepared us with lights. Also, the track was prepared with thousands of colored lights. It was fun to run!
To my surprise there were some “obstacles”: Some tree trunks that should be jumped over and also some fire lines. The weather was great to run but the days before it was rainy. And so the track, manly through the wold was very wet and slippy. Once again: It was fun to run!
After the run there was a little party. We drank a beer and talk to each other. But I needed to go because the next day was waiting: The ATG Winterlauf…..
